I recently found another wheel like these so I added it to this group which now includes 5 rather than 4 wheels. It is shown as the unpainted rusty wheel and is just as nice if not better than the rest of the primered wheels. Thanks a lot, Bob Woodburn phonne 406-7 nine 9-1847 in Bozeman Montana USA. The Original Listing Description Follows.
This listing is for a set of 4 General Jumbo wheels with the 6 bolt pattern that fits most 1930 through 1948 or so Chevrolet passenger cars and pickups. They may also fit some of the later Chevrolet pickups as well. These are 14" wheels that are 6-5/8" wide between the rim flanges. There are 6 bolt holes located on a 5-1/2 inch diameter bolt circle. The last two photos of this listing are from a Wikepedia search for "General Jumbo Wheel". Those 2 photos show these wheels mounted on a restored 1932 Ford 400-B convertible sedan and a restored 1934 Ford roadster. That system drastically reduces the size of the photos and I can only send 5 photos at a time. The hub area is stamped with BGS-2 which may be General Tire part number. The same area is also stamped with 14/6.62, CLEVE-WELD and PAT. I believe a company called Cleveland Welding made these wheel for the General Tire company back in the early to mid 1930's.
One can use G78-14 and perhaps other sizes of tires to fit these wheels today. I bought these wheels just as you seem them several years ago and know nothing about the history of them. Three of the four are in very good condition. The fourth wheel has some minor damage to three of the 6 bolt holes as you can seen in 2 of the photos of this listing.
That damaged wheel is shown in the last of the photo of the front side of the hub area as well as in the last of the photo of the rear side of the hub area. Therefore, I will make the following offer. The two wheels that have the area between the rim beads painted flat black appear to have very little pitting in that area. The two wheels that have the area between the rim beads painted light gray appear to have more pitting in that area but that pitting is not really a functional problem. The center opening is 7-1/8 inches in diameter.
Perhaps you can find some hub caps that will fit or even make some custom hub caps to match the rest of your car. Fortunately, the options for center caps for these wheels are truly limitless. If you want to use these wheels on some vehicles with a different lug bolt patterns, I would suggest re-drilling the brake drums to match the pattern of these wheels. Any reasonably competent machine shop should be able to handle that task for you if you do not have access to a vertical milling machine. I may be adding more information soon so please check this listing every day or so.
